A tired flat becomes a dynamic, multi level space for a young couple.

  • The clients needed to increase the size of their flat and were happy to be playful with the design and interested in introducing new textures and materials.

The existing space was a small maisonette flat on the ground and first floor of a terraced house, which had already been extended at the rear.

We decided to extend into the basement to create two additional bedrooms, a bathroom and a utility room. On the ground floor, we opened up the kitchen area at the rear, introduced additional glazing, exposed existing raw materials and restored existing period features including the cornices and floorboards.

    Project completed at WGPA.
